In 2009, the Sumter Development Board and the Sumter Smarter Growth Initiative unveiled a major new multimedia marketing campaign designed to attract the attention of development prospects, with the end goal being the creation of local jobs and capital investment for the Sumter Community. This effort, which we call "American Spirit. Global Edge," reflects two things about Sumter: our irrepressible community spirit and the competitive edge we can help supply to local businesses.

In late 2009, our new campaign was honored with 5 awards by the Southern Economic Development Council.
