Purpose

The purpose of the Sumter Smarter Growth Initiaitive (SSGI) is to bring private-sector resources and influence to economic development in Sumter. The SSGI, through its Board of Investors, meets monthly to discuss economic development opportunities and obstacles, and works to support the efforts of the community's lead economic development agency, the Sumter Development Board.

The SSGI is a private, not-for-profit group recognixrd by the SC Secretary of State and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Donations to the SSGI can be tax deductible.
